( I know, I know, it ISN'T EVEN THANKSGIVING ... your point? )
I am a lover of traditions.
I grew up in a family that cherished our holiday traditions.
After my sister and I graduated high school and left that small town,
those traditions started changing.
It is always different to go home for the holidays than to be home.
I was the first to miss Christmas.
I had spread my wings all the way to the city of Angels
and spent Christmas morning in an empty apartment,
sunshine pouring in on my taped up paper Christmas tree and thrifted twinkle lights.
One year later and I was only three weeks into a thirteen-month contract
at a resort in Germany.
This time my sister was with me
but we stared at another paper tree and cried.
That was Christmas of 2011.
I won't bore you with 2012 to 2015 but last Christmas, 2016, was my very first married Christmas. We had been married for exactly one week.
I was over my head into finals for school and coming off the stress of planning our wedding.
Andrew would stay up late with me and watch Christmas movies
while I struggled through studying Spanish and writing essays.
In good Christmases and less memorable ones,
I have always leaned on my (longtime) very favorite Christmas movies.
Last year, I didn't get to enjoy them as much as I would have liked.
As much as I have in Christmases past.
The sad news about this list, is that only two of these are on Netflix (White Christmas & Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas), and none of them are included with Amazon Prime BUT they are SO worth purchasing (or renting).
I hope that you will find some new Christmas movies to enjoy from this list and that your holiday is magical.
