All these books.
Collecting dust on shelves for different numbers of days.
By the end of this year I am hoping to have them all read.
1. Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
2. The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis
3. Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
4. You and Me Forever by Francis & Lisa Chan
5. Book of Hope by Nancy Guthrie
6. Unashamed by Christine Caine
7. Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp
8. The New Strong-Willed Child by James Dobson
9. Grace Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel
Bonhoeffer's book is supposed to be an excellent read on Christian community. I am looking forward to reading it because living in community has always been difficult for me.
These C.S. Lewis books seem to be tried and true favorites among the Jesus loving crowd and I am excited to spend some time in their pages.
A couple years ago I was introduced to Francis Chan through his book Crazy Love, which was incredible. When I found him and his wife's book on marriage I was quick to snatch it up and I am eager to read it.
This one year devotion on hope was gifted to me by my cousin after we lost our son. The wounds aren't as raw as when I received it but I'm hopeful that I will still find it to be encouraging and a great source of comfort.
Christine Caine's new book was a gift from my secret sister over Christmas and is the one book I've already started. I'm halfway through and already so encouraged that I am eager to finish it up this month.
The last three books are all parenting books that were recommended to me by parents who I greatly admire. I've had them all for different lengths of time and am just so ashamed that I haven't read them yet. I am excited to finally spend some time in them and (hopefully) learn some tools for effective, biblical parenting.
I had planned on one book a month but decided to stick with these nine because I am also working my way through my bible.
Any readers out there? What is on your list for the year?
